For his job Jules is traveling to many cities around the world like, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Bangkok, Venice, Milan, Warsaw, Birmingham, Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, etc. He is fascinated by the differences of culture and daily life, every city has its own character, he finds this very fascinating.
Through his daily work he becomes fascinated by the possibilities of digital imaging. Hundreds of images merges it into powerful compositions that are enriched with computer art and various painting techniques. The work is a quest, in his work you can always discover new things that at first sight not seen before. This keeps you constantly fascinating this work. Fotografie is steeds zijn passie geweest, hij was één van de eerste die aan digitale fotografie deed in Belgie, Jules is voor zijn job veel onderweg naar steden over heel de wereld zoals Shanghai, Hongkong, Shenzhen, Bangkok, Venetië, Milaan, Warschau, Birmingham, Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona, Parijs, enz. Hij is gefascineerd door de grote verschillen van cultuur en dagelijks leven, elke stad heeft zijn eigen karakter. Dit vind hij zeer boeiend. Door zijn dagelijks werk raakt hij gefascineerd door de mogelijkheden van digitale beeldbewerking. Honderden beelden fuseert hij tot krachtige composities, die worden verrijkt met computer kunst en verschillende verf technieken. Het werk is één zoektocht , in zijn werk kan je steeds nieuwe dingen ontdekken die op het eerste gezicht niet gezien hebt. Daardoor blijft dit werk je constant boeien. Geïnspireerd door onder andere mode, design, architectuur, reizen en muziek borrelen ideeën voor nieuwe kunstwerken constant bij hem op.

Digital Painting

You can actually describe the process like that. All the works are a combination of photography and painting / drawing. Jules use the photos as a tool to create a new image which is more to discover than just the picture itself. It is intended that the newly created image describe certain atmosphere to display. The result is an image in which you can’t see everythingat the first time but that you will discover more and more cases after a while.

Zo kun je eigenlijk de werkwijze omschrijven. Al de werken zijn een combinatie van fotografie en schilderen/tekenen. Jules gebruikt de foto’s als tool om een nieuw beeld te scheppen waarin meer in te ontdekken is dan alleen de foto op zichzelf. Het is de bedoeling om in het nieuw gecreëerde beeld een bepaalde sfeer weer te geven. Het resultaat is een beeld waarin je niet alles op het eerste gezicht ziet maar dat je er na een tijd steeds meer in blijft ontdekken.
